Produced and directed by Steven Middleton, the series explores the unexpected side of the Commonwealth—stories that might be overlooked, forgotten, or simply too interesting to leave untold.

The first volume of Commonwealth Curiosities began the journey in 2014, exploring a collection of unique Kentucky stories and the people behind them.
Each story offers a different glimpse into the Commonwealth, but together they share a common theme: there is always more to discover.

Following the first collection of stories, Commonwealth Curiosities Volume 2 continued the exploration in 2015, uncovering more fascinating people, places, traditions, and pieces of Kentucky history.

More Than a Curiosity
The stories featured in Commonwealth Curiosities are about more than unusual facts or interesting places. They are about people and the connections they have to the places they call home.
That is what makes these stories worth documenting. A tradition survives because someone cares enough to continue it. A historic place matters because people remember it. A community has character because of the people who have built their lives there.
Through Commonwealth Curiosities, my goal is to preserve those connections and introduce audiences to pieces of Kentucky they may never have otherwise encountered.
